Quick Overview

A choice of 2 aluminium columns:

1M Models: A pair of aluminium columns with 2 photocells built into each column for large vehicles.

0.5M Models: A pair of columns with a photocell built into each column.

Simply put these come in pairs, you have a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends a photo-electric signal to the receiver which means nothing is blocking the closing of the gate/door/barrier. If the signal is interrupted for example by a car, a person or a pet the gate automation will cease until the obstruction is cleared.

Please note: Price depending on which model you would like.

Details

What are photocells and how do they work?

Photocells detect the presence of any obstacle during the movement of doors, gates, shutters and barriers making it safer for anyone or anything that is passing. The photocell system is synchronised with relays.

Photocells are used in the manufacture of automatic gates and doors but also serve for alarms and anti-theft devices, or even as a multiplier which is a tool used to amplify the effects of light radiation. There are many different fields of application.

These devices are exposed directly to the environment and sometimes they can stop working; the problem can often be solved with simple measures without it becoming necessary to replace the photocells.

The LIFE photocells do not suffer from common faults such as breakdowns caused by poor quality plastic or malfunctions brought on by cheap electronics.
